San Jorge de Tandayapa Private Reserve (Tandayapa Cloud Forest) lower valley. Marvellous panoramic views, wild surroundings, tropical plants/flowers and exotic wildlife. Bungalow deck with hammocks for relaxing at lunchtime, bathroom, feeders, spectacular views, and 40 species of orchids. Tandayapa falls within the Choco Endemic Bird Area (EBA) of northwest Ecuador. You may spot up to 20 varieties of Hummingbirds, Tanager flocks including Grass-green Tanager, Blue-winged Mountain Tanager, Cineraous Harrier, and also Toucan Barbet and Crimson-rumped Toucanet; and possible Andean Cock of the Rock. World famous Nono-Mindo Road excursion is also included.

Altitude: 5120 feet in the lower area. 5800 feet in the upper area.

Tandayapa is found in the Choco Endemic Bird Area (EBA) of northwest Ecuador. Here you will find lovely rivers and spectacular, panoramic 360 degree views of the lower Tandayapa Valley. You will also visit the Cock of the Rock Lek where you will have a chance to gaze upon the male congregation of the brilliant Andean Cock of the Rock.

Grass green Tanager, Blue winged Mountain Tanager, Andean Cock of the Rock, Beryl Spangled Tanager, Black capped Tanager, Golden naped Tanager, Blue gray Tanager, Swallow Tanager, Tropical Parula, Blue capped Tanager, Lemon rumped Tanager, Metallic green Tanager, Bananaquit, Golden Tanager, Silver throated Tanager, Plate billed Mountain Toucan, Black Phoebe, Smoke colored Pewee, Tropical Kingbird, Social Flycatcher, White capped Dipper, Roadside Hawk, House Wren, Southern rough winged Swallow, Blue and White swallow, Blue black Grassquit, Yellow bellied Seedeater, Blackburnian Warbler, Cinamon Becard, Ecuadorian Thrush and Great Thrush. . Fawn breasted Tanager, Guira Tanager, Plumbeous Pigeon, Bat falcon, Plain breasted Hawk, White capped Dipper, Dusky Phia, Black and Green Fruiteater, Scaled Fruiteater, Chestnut capped Brush Finch, Golden headed Quetzal and Andean Guan.

Tanager Finch, White winged Tanager, Black and Chestnut Eagle, Crested Eagle, Andean Solitaire, White throated Hawk, Giant Antpitta, Collared Forest Falcon Violet-tailed Sylph, Brown Inca, Purple-bibbed Whitetip, Green-fronted Lancebill, Western Emerald, Purple-throated Woodstar, Amethyst Woodstar, Collared Inca, Wedge billed Hummingbird, Green Violtear, Andean Emerald, Sparkling Violtear, White tailed Hillstar, Gorgeted Sunangel, Booted Racket Tail, White bellied Woodstar, Buff tailed Coronet, Green crowned Woodnymph, Velvet purple Coronet, Speckled hummingbird and Tawny bellied Hermit.

With 25 cents take the trole bus in any place of the city( south to north direction), Stop in the North Trole City Station. Inside this station, take a "feeder trole bus" to PARQUE DE COTOCOLLAO. Its a white /green bus.
Once in this park, you can take a bus( Rancho -Ofelia) and make the driver stop in Hosteria San Jorge entrance (4 km uphill). 25 cents.Walk for 1 km and arrive. From this park you can take a taxi, for 8 USD or you can take a pick up for 5 USD and be transported directly to Hosteria San Jorge.
We offer safe, direct and private shuttles 24 hour day service from the airport or any place of the city.
